Raven Rock Getaway: Firepit Nights Getaway

The cabin was cute and cozy. It is right off a main Hwy and the view from our cabin was the highway. We were quite a little walk from the community fire pit and games. We did not have a bbq grill at our cabin. We stayed for 7 days and we were told we would have a set of towels, but if we wanted fresh towels mid stay we would have to pay for a mid week clean which I thought was a little much for just wanting fresh towels. We were told we could bring our own towels. We were looking for a broom that we could sweep our cabin floor and no broom. Ask for a broom and was told to check by fridge or in closet. Not sure host knew what cabin we were in. We only had little fridge under cabinet and no closet. When I suggested not to worry about it, I would just go buy a broom, one magically appeared on my front porch. This is really not a woodsy wildlife experience. Highway traffic was a lot and loud. It was nice inside, but frustrated we paid what we did and had to bring our own grill and extra towels. We will not stay here again. This was not what we expected for the cost.

Overall ok, we feel we overpaid for the quality of the cabin. Positive: It was cozy! Well decorated and organized. Negative: The floor seemed to lack support beans around the bed, bed shook when we walked around it. Ceiling fan seemed to be loose, we didnt feel safe to use it. Took awhile to figure out how to get the shower to a good temperature, the knob didnt seem to work well when picking a temperature. The shades for the windows did not offer full coverage, you could see right in at night.

I should have done more investigating before booking this property. The highway next to our cabin was very close and every time a large truck, motorcycle or car came by at 70 miles an hour a cloud of dust and noise made it unpleasant to sit outside. The fire pit and outside area is also right next to the highway.My first shower was interrupted midstream due to lack of any water. Customer service told me they would call me when the problem was fixed. Didn't happen, I had to call them hours later to to find it had been fixed hours earlier. Also television service is not provided. You must use your Amazon account.....if you have one, in order to access television of any kind. If you're not tech savvy setting it up could be a bit of a problem. This cabin is about half the size of a regular hotel room and tight for two average sized people. None of this information is shared on the website. I'll do my due diligence next time.
